I dream about the onion rings at Doug Fir . . . really bad for the hips, really good with a local micro-brew . . . and oh yeah Jeff Kovel's design ROCKS! Simply brilliant interiors intertwine high-touch surfaces and materials with a great sense of humor . . . all set against the edgiest of Portland soundtracks. Collaborating with Jeff and his crew at Skylab on Departure Lounge (set to open next summer 2008) has been a wonderful excuse for repeated trips back to Doug Fir and my onion rings to go!
