A steak, by any other name . . .

In Portland at a tasting with Sage Restaurant Group, we learned, through full sensory experience (read: tasting) the actual difference between your run of the mill, basic supermarket steak, and all natural, grass fed, happy cow steak. Natural is infinitely more delicious, as served at Sage Restaurants, of course. Michael Hocter and Peter Karpinski of Sage Restaurant Group with the best steaks. Slicing the T-bones for the group to taste.

Departure builds

While in Portland, we conducted a walkthrough of Departure's construction site, which is progressing nicely. In the elevator, Denise enjoys the view while Kevin McKinney, and Dannon discussĀ  the project with architect Jeffrey Kovel (in the black rimmed glasses). Tostones in Miami

Miami boasts some of the best Cuban food, and my favorite comes way off the beaten track in Coral Gables. Havana Harry's is packed with Cubanos, and the food is ordered in spanish nine times out of ten. The Vaca Frita, Tostones and Moros are not to be missed.
